Canadian wilderness trek part 1: Strictly Shurfing

On a recent expedition to Mexico Josh "the flying squirrel"Johnson, Daniel "the dancing queen" Dedina and Israel Dedina had the pleasure of scoring right pointsbreaks in the company of way to many Brazilians, Israeli's that fought eachother while riding waves and our bug friends, the chiquistes and los mosques.
Daniel gives a high five to an invisible stranger

The dancing queen at it again

work your magic

I forgot my bagged lunch

Snaps there, the wave isn't

Josh was inspired by Coonskunk...his puppy friend

There is more water in the spray than there is in the wave...

Boneless

Anyone see the winged serpent in the back?

Dropping in...

I spent some time practicing the downward dog on some of the better waves...

♪♪♪♪LATELY♪♪♪♪

In the past few weeks a lot has happened, yet there has been no recognition. Therefore there must be a news post on all the latest, important jazz. Here's a quick rundown:
We come out with official merchandise: hand drawn illustrations by me, on crappy glass on fins.
Mrs. Pac Man chases ghosts.

Tim Townsley gets ready to glass my new board.

I have captured the money shot of John John at the Lowers Pro. ( He had sent me a written thank you, with an enclosed check for $873,342,983,000.50 towards baby powder)
Wavves in I.B. are so good, we brake for no one, not even little Gabe.

Daniel Dedina gets weird
Josh Johnson still can't spell.

While the Johnsons and the Alta-Denas shred perfect barreling points near Barra, I.B endures June-gloom, with a terrible coastal eddy, and sad water conditions. WOOOO!

random DANCING/comp pics

"awful"

not my fault, the foamball caught my leash
As the old saying goes, the waves are always better on the other side of the jetty.

Daniel likes to dance.

The only time Josh is this laid back is after he crashes from drinking too much Mansanita Sol. Thats pretty darn laid back.

teamwork

Israel with a little snap.

The waves were amazingly clean and a few barrels were found

Something a little different...

I'm not much of a skimboarder...
"I made it for surfing", Tim said, describing the new sub five foot epoxy skimboard that he had shaped for my brother and I. I had surfed on one of Tim's skimboards before, but it had more volume and an optional twin fin setup that I was able to utilize. This thing was slightly smaller and I didn't even think I would be able to paddle it.

The first time I surfed it I new I was wrong, not only could I paddle the board relatively easily, I was able to ride waves on it. It rode alot like an alaia albeit with a little more control. My brother(Daniel Dedina) also tried it and came to the same conclusion.
First attempt at a shove it, I came close and then had fun swimming to get my board.

The next time we took it out I decided to try something new. Shove-its are a very simple trick to do on skimboards because they don't have fins. After falling about twenty times and having the nose of the board go somewhere very painful I finally landed one.

Next time I think I'll try it out at the wedge...

This is the one that I finally landed.
